Anti-dumping

Anti-dumping measures are policies implemented by governments to protect domestic industries from unfair foreign competition. When a country exports goods at prices lower than their normal market value—often below production cost—this is called "dumping." Such practices can harm local businesses and reduce market competitiveness. To counter this, governments may impose additional tariffs or fees on imported goods suspected of being dumped, making the imports more expensive and helping domestic producers compete fairly. These measures ensure a level playing field in international trade and prevent predatory pricing strategies.
