Anti-Blackness

Anti-Blackness refers to the specific prejudice, discrimination, and systemic barriers directed against Black people. It involves negative beliefs, stereotypes, and practices that devalue Black lives, achievements, and identities. This bias is often deeply embedded in institutions, societal norms, and culture, leading to unequal opportunities, unfair treatment, and social exclusion for Black individuals. Recognizing anti-Blackness is crucial for addressing racial disparities and fostering equity and justice. It is not just individual bias but a widespread, systemic issue that impacts many aspects of life for Black communities.
