Anterior Drawer Test

The Anterior Drawer Test is a physical assessment used to evaluate the stability of the knee, specifically the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). The person lies on their back with their knee bent at about 90 degrees. The clinician stabilizes the thigh with one hand and gently pulls forward on the tibia (shinbone) with the other. If the tibia shifts forward excessively compared to the uninjured side, it suggests an ACL injury. This test helps determine if the ligament is torn or damaged, guiding appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
