Anterior Cruciate Ligament reconstruction
Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction is a surgical procedure to repair a torn ACL, a key ligament in the knee that stabilizes movement. The surgery involves removing the damaged ligament and replacing it with a piece of healthy tissue, called a graft, which can come from your own body (often from the patellar tendon or hamstring tendons) or from a donor. The graft is securely anchored in the thigh and shin bones to restore knee stability. Rehab afterward focuses on restoring strength, flexibility, and function, allowing patients to return to sports or daily activities with a stable knee.
