Ansgar
Ansgar, known as the "Apostle of the North," was a 9th-century Christian missionary who played a crucial role in spreading Christianity in Scandinavia, particularly in Denmark and Sweden. He was born around 801 in France and became a monk before embarking on missions. Ansgar established the first church in Denmark and is credited with promoting the Christian faith among the Viking community. His efforts laid the groundwork for future missions and the eventual Christianization of the region. He is recognized as a saint in both Catholicism and Lutheranism, and his feast day is celebrated on February 3rd.
