Anselmianism

Anselmianism refers to the philosophical and theological ideas of St. Anselm of Canterbury, particularly his arguments for the existence of God. One key concept is the "ontological argument," which suggests that since we can conceive of a perfect being (God), that being must exist, as existence is a necessary attribute of perfection. Anselm also emphasized faith seeking understanding, indicating that belief in God involves a desire to understand divine truths more deeply. His work laid foundations for later theological discussions and remains influential in philosophy and religious thought.
