Anomalous Monism

Anomalous Monism is a philosophical view about the mind and body proposed by Donald Davidson. It suggests that mental events (thoughts, feelings) and physical events (brain activities) are deeply connected and follow the same natural laws, but mental states are not reducible to physical descriptions. In other words, everything physical can be explained scientifically, yet mental phenomena remain uniquely 'anomalous' because they are not strictly governed by physical laws. This view bridges the gap between physical science and subjective experience, asserting that mental events are real but cannot be fully predicted or explained purely through physical terms.
