Annular Eclipse
An annular eclipse occurs when the Moon passes directly in front of the Sun but is at a point in its orbit where it appears smaller, so it does not completely cover the Sun. Instead, the Sun forms a bright, ring-like outline called a "ring of fire" around the dark Moon. This happens because the Moon’s orbit is slightly elliptical, making it appear smaller during the eclipse. Annular eclipses are beautiful and different from total eclipses, where the Sun is fully covered. They are safe to view with proper eye protection, but never without appropriate solar viewing glasses.
