Annex I

Annex I is a list of countries that are considered developed or industrialized, mainly in Europe and a few other regions. These countries have historically contributed the most to global greenhouse gas emissions and are often responsible for leading efforts to reduce pollution. Being listed in Annex I affects how they participate in international climate agreements, typically requiring them to set binding emission reduction targets and provide financial or technical support to developing countries to help them also address climate change.
