Animal Assisted Activities
Animal Assisted Activities (AAA) involve using trained animals, usually dogs or other pets, to engage with people in non-clinical settings to promote well-being. These activities are designed to provide comfort, reduce stress, and enhance social interaction through friendly animal contact. AAA can take place in hospitals, nursing homes, schools, or community centers. Unlike therapy or service animals with specific tasks, AAA is more casual and focuses on the general benefits of human-animal interaction. The goal is to improve emotional health and quality of life through positive, interactive experiences with animals.
