Anima/Animus Theory
The Anima/Animus theory, developed by Carl Jung, suggests that within each person’s unconscious mind are opposite-gender traits—anima representing feminine qualities in men, and animus representing masculine qualities in women. These inner figures influence our perceptions, behaviors, and relationships, and help us integrate different aspects of ourselves. Recognizing and understanding these inner archetypes can lead to greater self-awareness and balance, fostering healthier interactions with others and personal growth.
