Anglo-Scottish relations

Anglo-Scottish relations refer to the historical and political interactions between England and Scotland. These two countries shared a tumultuous history marked by periods of conflict, such as the Wars of Independence in the late 13th century, as well as cultural exchanges and alliances. The 1707 Act of Union unified them into Great Britain, creating a single parliament. Over time, Scotland has retained its distinct identity, leading to modern debates about devolution and independence. Today, while generally cooperative within the United Kingdom, differences in political views and cultural identity continue to shape their relationship.
