Angel of the North

The Angel of the North is a large steel sculpture located in Gateshead, England, designed by artist Antony Gormley. Standing 20 meters (66 feet) tall with a wingspan of 54 meters (177 feet), it represents a modern symbol of hope, community, and the north of England. Completed in 1998, it’s visible for miles and has become an iconic landmark. Its design features outstretched wings, creating a sense of embrace and protection.
