Anfal Campaign

The Anfal Campaign was a brutal military operation carried out by Saddam Hussein's Iraqi government in 1988 against the Kurdish population in northern Iraq. It involved mass killings, disappearances, and the destruction of Kurdish villages, aimed at suppressing Kurdish independence movements. Thousands of Kurds were killed or imprisoned, and many villages were destroyed to intimidate the community.
