Aneurysm Coiling

Aneurysm coiling is a minimally invasive medical procedure used to treat an abnormal bulge, called an aneurysm, in a blood vessel, often in the brain. During the procedure, a doctor threads a thin tube through the blood vessels to the aneurysm and then inserts tiny platinum coils. These coils fill the aneurysm, helping to prevent blood flow into it, which reduces the risk of rupture or bleeding. The coils encourage blood to clot inside the aneurysm, sealing it off safely. This approach often avoids the need for open surgery and helps protect patients from serious complications.
