Aneuploidy Screening

Aneuploidy screening tests analyze a pregnant person's blood or sometimes cell samples from the placenta to detect chromosomal abnormalities in the fetus, such as Down syndrome. These tests measure specific markers or analyze genetic material to assess the likelihood of certain conditions. While they cannot provide a definitive diagnosis, they help identify pregnancies at higher risk for chromosomal disorders, guiding further diagnostic testing if needed. The goal is to offer expectant parents information about their baby's health early in pregnancy.
