
Andrew McNaughton (Canadian general)
Andrew McNaughton was a prominent Canadian military leader and engineer, born in 1887. During World War I, he served as an engineer and later became Chief Engineer of the Canadian Corps, contributing to innovative artillery tactics. In World War II, he rose to the rank of Major-General, commanding Canadian forces in Europe and coordinating logistics and defenses. Beyond the military, he was also an accomplished scientist and engineer, involved in projects like the development of Canada's first nuclear research reactor. McNaughton played a key role in advancing Canada's military capabilities and scientific development during the first half of the 20th century.
