Andorran independence
Andorra is a small, landlocked country situated between France and Spain. It has maintained its independence through a unique political arrangement established in 1868, which combines monarchical and parliamentary elements. The principality is jointly ruled by two co-princes: the President of France and the Bishop of Urgell (Spain). This agreement allows Andorra to be self-governing in many aspects, such as customs and internal laws, while recognizing its sovereignty within its territory. Its independence is rooted in historical treaties and the continuous evolution of its political system, enabling Andorra to operate as a distinct nation despite its size and proximity to larger neighbors.
