Ancient Universities of Nalanda

Nalanda was an ancient center of learning located in India, established around the 5th century CE. It flourished as one of the world's earliest residential universities, attracting students and scholars from across Asia. Nalanda offered comprehensive studies in topics like Buddhist philosophy, logic, medicine, astronomy, and arts. Its vast library and monasteries made it a major hub for intellectual exchange and religious scholarship. The university operated for about 600 years before being abandoned in the 13th century. Today, the ruins of Nalanda are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, symbolizing a rich legacy of education and cultural exchange in ancient India.
