ancient Hindu Shahi dynasty

The Hindu Shahi dynasty was a prominent ruling family in northern India and parts of present-day Afghanistan from the 8th to the 11th centuries CE. They were known for their efforts to preserve Hindu and Buddhist traditions amid Muslim invasions, and their capital was in regions like Taxila and Lahore. The Shahi rulers occasionally allied with or fought against neighboring powers, including the early Muslim empires.
