Ancient Britons
Ancient Britons were the prehistoric people living on the island of Britain before the Roman invasion, roughly from 800 BCE to the Roman conquest in AD 43. They belonged to various tribal societies, practicing farming, hunting, and trading. Their culture included distinctive tools, pottery, and megalithic monuments like stone circles. They spoke early Celtic languages and had complex social structures. After the Romans arrived, their culture gradually integrated with Roman influences, but many aspects persisted in later medieval populations. The term "Ancient Britons" mainly refers to these early inhabitants who laid the foundations for later British culture.
