Ancient Arabian religion

Ancient Arabian religion was diverse, combining tribal beliefs, polytheism, and animism. Many tribes worshipped a pantheon of gods associated with natural elements like the sun, moon, stars, and storms, often centered around sacred stones or shrines. Mecca, for instance, housed the Kaaba, a major religious site. Religious practices included rituals, offerings, and pilgrimages. Aside from polytheism, some groups practiced monotheism, such as the Hanifs who worshipped a single God. The religion played a central role in social and political life, shaping cultural identity before the rise of Islam in the 7th century CE.
