Anatomical plane

Anatomical planes are imaginary lines that divide the human body into specific sections, helping healthcare professionals describe locations and movements precisely. The three main planes are: the sagittal plane, which divides the body into left and right parts; the coronal (or frontal) plane, which separates the front (anterior) and back (posterior) sections; and the transverse (or axial) plane, which cuts across the body horizontally, creating upper (superior) and lower (inferior) parts. These planes aid in understanding body orientation, movement, and medical imaging by providing standardized references.
