The Anangu people are Indigenous Australians primarily from the Western Desert region of Australia, including Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara communities. They have a rich culture grounded in Deep Time with strong connections to the land, which they refer to as Tjukurpa or Dreaming. Their traditions encompass stories, laws, ceremonies, and artwork that encode their history and spirituality. The Anangu maintain a close relationship with their environment, practicing sustainable living and respecting sacred sites. They actively participate in managing their land, balancing cultural preservation with contemporary life, and are recognized nationally for their cultural heritage and ongoing efforts to uphold their traditional ways.
