Anabolic agents

Anabolic agents are substances that promote muscle growth and tissue development by increasing protein synthesis in the body. Commonly known as anabolic steroids, they mimic naturally occurring hormones like testosterone. Athletes and bodybuilders sometimes use them to enhance strength and physical appearance, but they can also have serious side effects such as hormonal imbalance, liver issues, and cardiovascular problems. While they have legitimate medical uses for certain diseases, their non-medical use is often controversial and illegal in many sports and jurisdictions.
