ANA Profile

An ANA Profile refers to an antibody test used to identify antinuclear antibodies (ANAs) in the blood. These antibodies are produced by the immune system and mistakenly target the nucleus of our cells. A positive ANA test can indicate autoimmune conditions such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, or other autoimmune diseases. The test helps doctors understand if an immune system disorder may be present, guiding further diagnosis and treatment. It’s important to interpret the results alongside other clinical information, as a positive ANA can sometimes be found in healthy individuals or those with other conditions.
