Amur Leopard (Panthera pardus orientalis)

The Amur Leopard (Panthera pardus orientalis) is a critically endangered big cat native to the Russian Far East and northeastern China. Known for its striking rosette-patterned coat, it is exceptionally well-adapted to cold climates with thick fur and powerful limbs for stalking prey. With a shy and solitary nature, it primarily hunts deer, hares, and rodents. Due to habitat loss and poaching, fewer than 100 individuals are estimated to remain in the wild. Conservation efforts focus on habitat protection and anti-poaching measures to ensure the survival of this elusive and majestic species.
