AmSECT stands for the American Society for Extra-Corporeal Technology. It is a professional organization dedicated to supporting healthcare professionals who operate and design life-support machines used during heart surgeries and critical care, such as heart-lung machines. The organization promotes education, research, and standards to ensure safe and effective extracorporeal (outside the body) circulation techniques.
