Amphibious Readiness Group

An Amphibious Readiness Group (ARG) is a specialized naval team designed to quickly deploy military forces from ships to land operations. It typically consists of amphibious warfare ships, such as amphibious assault ships and dock landing ships, along with supporting vessels and aircraft. The ARG’s main role is to project power ashore, support humanitarian efforts, or respond to crises, by providing a flexible, mobile force capable of rapid intervention anywhere in the world. It acts as a floating, self-sufficient unit that can deliver troops, equipment, and supplies directly onto land, often as part of larger amphibious or military operations.
