Amperometry

Amperometry is an analytical technique used to measure the flow of electric current that results from chemical reactions occurring at an electrode. When a specific substance interacts with the electrode, it either gains or loses electrons, creating a tiny electrical current proportional to the substance’s concentration. This method is often used in sensors to monitor chemicals like glucose in blood, providing real-time, accurate measurements. By controlling the voltage applied to the electrode, amperometry isolates the reaction of interest, making it a valuable tool in medical diagnostics, environmental testing, and industrial processes.
