Ammonius Saccas
Ammonius Saccas was a Greek philosopher from Alexandria in the 3rd century CE, considered a foundational figure in Neoplatonism. He is often credited with developing a system of philosophical thought that integrated and interpreted earlier philosophies, especially Plato’s ideas. His teachings emphasized the unity of all existence and the pursuit of spiritual truth through intellectual and mystical means. Although little of his work survives directly, his influence shaped later thinkers like Plotinus and contributed to the development of Western philosophical and mystical traditions. Essentially, he helped connect different philosophical ideas into a cohesive spiritual outlook.
