AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia)

Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow, where the body produces abnormal white blood cells called myeloblasts. These immature cells grow rapidly and crowd out healthy blood cells, leading to issues like fatigue, infections, easy bruising, and bleeding. AML progresses quickly and requires prompt treatment. It can occur in adults and children but is more common in older adults. The exact cause is often unknown, but risk factors include genetic changes, exposure to certain chemicals, or previous cancer treatments. Effective therapies exist, but AML remains a serious disease requiring specialized medical care.
