American West expansion

The American West expansion, often called Manifest Destiny, was a 19th-century belief that the U.S. was destined to expand westward across the North American continent. Motivated by economic opportunities, land availability, and a sense of national purpose, Americans moved west, establishing new settlements and territories. This process involved significant challenges, including conflicts with Native American tribes, negotiations, and sometimes violence.
