American Tennis Association

The American Tennis Association (ATA) is an organization founded in 1916 to promote and support African-American participation in tennis. It aimed to create opportunities and competitions for Black players during a time of racial segregation, helping to develop talent and increase visibility for African-Americans in the sport. Today, the ATA continues to serve as a national hub for Black tennis communities, fostering growth, education, and inclusivity within the sport of tennis.
