
American States Organization
The American States Organization, known as the Organization of American States (OAS), is a regional group founded in 1948 to promote peace, security, democracy, and development among countries in the Americas. It provides a platform for dialogue, mutual cooperation, and resolving conflicts peacefully. Comprising 35 member states from North, Central, and South America, the OAS works on issues like human rights, economic growth, and security to strengthen solidarity and address shared challenges. Its goal is to foster stability, democracy, and progress throughout the Western Hemisphere.
