American Society of Planning Officials (ASPO)

The American Society of Planning Officials (ASPO) was a professional organization dedicated to supporting planning professionals who work to develop and manage communities, ensuring sustainable growth, effective land use, and quality of life. It provided resources, training, and networking opportunities for those involved in city and regional planning. ASPO aimed to improve planning practices nationwide by promoting education, ethical standards, and collaboration among planners, engineers, and policymakers. (Note: ASPO merged with the American Planning Association (APA) in 2002, and its functions are now part of the broader APA community.)
