American Society of News Editors (ASNE)
The American Society of News Editors (ASNE) was a professional organization founded in 1922 to support ethical standards, quality journalism, and the interests of newsroom editors and leaders in the United States. It aimed to promote best practices, foster innovation, and advocate for a free press. ASNE organized conferences, provided training, and facilitated dialogue among media professionals. In 2018, it merged with the American Society of News Editors Foundation (ASNEF) to form the News Leaders Association, continuing its mission to uphold journalistic integrity and adapt to the evolving media landscape.
