American Sentencing Association

The American Society of Sentencing Commissioners (ASSC) is a professional organization founded in 1984 that focuses on improving sentencing practices within the criminal justice system. It brings together state and federal sentencing commissioners, judges, academics, and other stakeholders to develop, share, and promote effective sentencing guidelines and policies. Their goal is to promote fair, consistent, and transparent sentencing decisions, enhance public safety, and ensure that punishments appropriately fit the severity of crimes.
