American political parties are organized groups that represent different ideas about how the government should operate. The two main parties are the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. Democrats generally support a larger role for government in providing social services, healthcare, and regulating the economy, often emphasizing social equality. Republicans tend to favor smaller government, fewer regulations, and more individual responsibility, prioritizing free markets and personal liberty.
