American Isolationism
American isolationism is a historical approach where the United States chose to minimize its involvement in international politics, conflicts, and alliances. This stance aimed to focus on domestic issues and avoid the entanglements of foreign wars or alliances, especially in the early 20th century. While not completely detached from global affairs, the U.S. preferred to stay neutral and limit overseas commitments. This attitude shifted at times, particularly during and after World War II, but the core idea was to protect national interests by reducing foreign engagement, maintaining independence from broader international conflicts.
