American Home Economics Association (AHEA)

The American Home Economics Association (AHEA) was a professional organization founded in 1909 to support educators and professionals in the field of home economics, which focuses on managing households, nutrition, child development, and personal finance. It aimed to improve the quality of life by advancing education and research related to everyday domestic and family responsibilities. The AHEA promoted knowledge sharing, professional development, and the importance of home economics in fostering healthy, functional families and communities. In 1994, it merged with other organizations to form the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (AAFCS).
