Ambrosian Breviary

The Ambrosian Breviary is a traditional Christian prayer book used mainly by the Milanese church, containing the daily prayers, hymns, psalms, and readings for clergy and faithful. Named after Saint Ambrose, it differs from the more widespread Roman Breviary in its liturgical structure and content. Historically, it has maintained unique practices and texts, reflecting regional liturgical traditions. Though less common today, it remains an important example of medieval and Renaissance ecclesiastical liturgical heritage, serving as a guide for prayer and worship within the Ambrosian Rite, a distinctive liturgical rite practiced in parts of northern Italy.
