Amadeo Avogadro (scientist)
Amedeo Avogadro was an Italian scientist best known for his work in chemistry and physics in the early 19th century. He proposed Avogadro's Law, which states that equal volumes of gases, at the same temperature and pressure, contain the same number of molecules. This insight helped scientists understand the relationship between gas volume, temperature, pressure, and amount of substance. The number of molecules in one mole of any substance is now called Avogadro's number, approximately 6.022×10²³. His contributions are fundamental to modern chemistry, enabling precise calculations and understanding of atomic and molecular behavior.
