AM stereo broadcasting

AM stereo broadcasting enhances traditional AM radio signals by transmitting stereo sound, allowing listeners to experience stereo separation and richer audio quality. Unlike standard AM which carries mono sound, AM stereo uses specialized encoding techniques to send two channels (left and right) simultaneously. This requires compatible radios to decode the stereo signal. The goal is to improve the listening experience by providing clearer, more immersive sound while still benefiting from AM radio's strong transmission range and coverage. AM stereo has been adopted by some broadcasters, but its popularity remains limited due to the rise of FM and digital broadcasting options.
