AM and FM broadcasting

AM (Amplitude Modulation) and FM (Frequency Modulation) are two methods of transmitting radio signals. In AM, the audio signal varies the strength (amplitude) of the carrier wave, making it simpler but more susceptible to static and interference. FM, on the other hand, varies the frequency of the carrier wave to encode sound, providing better sound quality and noise resistance. Both are used to broadcast radio programs, with FM generally offering clearer audio, especially for music, while AM is commonly employed for talk radio and news broadcasts.
