AM
AM, or Amplitude Modulation, is a technique used in broadcasting audio signals, particularly for radio. It works by varying the strength (amplitude) of a radio wave in line with the sound signal being transmitted, such as music or speech. This modulation allows the receiver to decode the changes and reproduce the original audio. AM radio broadcasts typically cover large distances and can penetrate obstacles well, making them suitable for talk radio and music. However, AM signals are more susceptible to interference from electrical noise and weather, affecting sound quality compared to other techniques like FM (Frequency Modulation).
