Aluminium Production

Aluminium production begins with extracting bauxite ore from the earth, which contains aluminium oxide. This ore is refined to remove impurities, resulting in pure aluminium oxide. The oxide is then subjected to electrolysis—a process where an electric current is passed through the molten oxide, causing the aluminium to separate out. The aluminium collects at the bottom of the electrolytic cell and is then cooled and shaped into various forms. This process requires a lot of energy but produces aluminium that is lightweight, durable, and recyclable, making it essential in industries like transportation, packaging, and construction.
