Altavista

Altavista was one of the earliest popular web search engines, launched in 1995. It allowed users to find websites, images, and information on the internet by entering keywords. Known for its fast and comprehensive search results at the time, Altavista introduced features like advanced search options, which improved user experience. It was widely used before being overtaken by newer search engines like Google. Ultimately, Altavista was acquired by Yahoo in 2003 and phased out by 2013, but it played a significant role in the development of internet searching.
