Alt-right movement
The Alt-right, short for "alternative right," is a loosely connected far-right movement that emerged in the United States in the early 2010s. It is characterized by its rejection of mainstream conservatism and embraces white nationalism, populism, and anti-immigration sentiments. The movement often promotes the idea of white identity and resists multiculturalism. Alt-right groups frequently use online platforms to disseminate their views, employing memes and social media to attract younger audiences. While it gained prominence during the 2016 U.S. presidential election, it has faced significant criticism for its extremist views and connections to hate speech.
