alt-azimuth telescope

An alt-azimuth telescope is a type of telescope that moves in two directions: up and down (altitude) and side to side (azimuth). These controls allow you to point the telescope at different parts of the sky easily. It’s similar to how a camera pan and tilt handles work. This design is simple, stable, and widely used for both amateur and professional astronomy. However, unlike specialized telescopes, it doesn't automatically track celestial objects as Earth rotates unless equipped with additional motors or computer control.
